Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Laojun Cave and Huangjueya Old Street
Your journey through Chongqing’s layers of history, culture, and flavor begins with a visit to Laojun Cave, a hidden Taoist sanctuary carved into the mountainside. As incense smoke drifts through the air and stone statues peer out from the shadows, you’ll get a glimpse into China’s mystical spiritual traditions.
Next, step onto the ancient Tea-Horse Road at Huangjueya Old Street. Here, the stone-paved paths and timeworn wooden houses speak of a bygone era when traders carried tea over mountain passes to Tibet.

Day 2: Lunch and Baba Tea Session
We’ll then head to Xiahaoli, a riverside neighborhood that blends old Chongqing charm with modern creativity. Enjoy a relaxed lunch at a local eatery, followed by an authentic “Baba Tea” session—where locals sip tea and chat under the trees. It’s a slice of daily life in the mountain city.

Day 3: From Ancient to Mordern
Continue your exploration at the Great Hall of the People, a grand architectural landmark perfect for photography. Then step into Luohan Temple, one of Chongqing’s oldest Buddhist temples, nestled quietly among skyscrapers. Inside, hundreds of arhat statues line the halls, each one unique.
Next, feel the pulse of modern Chongqing at Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street, the city’s vibrant downtown core filled with shops, street snacks, and people-watching opportunities.
Before sunset, climb to Kuixing Pavilion, a lesser-known hilltop perch offering panoramic views of the Jialing River and Chongqing’s undulating skyline—an unforgettable photo stop.

Day 4: Spicy Chongqing Hotpot Dinner
As night falls, indulge in a traditional Chongqing hotpot dinner, where fiery broths and local ingredients come together in the city’s most iconic meal. Whether you choose spicy, mild, or half-and-half, it’s an essential part of the Chongqing experience.

Day 5: Hongya Cave
Finally, cap off the day at Hongya Cave, the city’s fairytale-like riverfront complex. As the lights come on and lanterns glow, the stacked wooden buildings create a magical scene—pure Chongqing.
